As you've likely noticed by now, I love to feature local companies whenever I can. Today, as the holiday season is upon us, I'm featuring some local chocolate products from Soma Chocolatemaker, based in Toronto, ON.
I visited the Distillery District location during my annual "Christmas Market" trip with some friends and found the store to be so cute and welcoming. There is a section within the store where chocolate is made onsite, and tables and walls filled with their products. You can also line up at the cash to order some fresh truffles, as well as choose a hot drink from their drink offerings.
I know I shouldn't have, but I ate the gingerbread fox, and almost all of the chocolate immediately after taking these photos. I also made myself a cup of hot chocolate with the chili chocolate mix and it was amazing.
If you're ever in town, I would definitely take the time to check them out (and the Distillery District as a whole!). I believe Soma is also working on developing an online ordering system so if you're out of town, you can also check out their products here.
