I've been trying out this clay mask lately and have really been enjoying it, therefore today I'm going to share with you some pictures of this amazing product and my feelings on it. This clay mask is from Antidote Skincare, an Ottawa-based skincare company that specializes in natural skincare products.
THE MASK
This mask is from their Clay Addiction range, in which each jar is packed full of good stuff for your face. I've been trying out the Cambrian Blue Clay Mask which contains at least 70% of the clay, as well as a number of other beneficial ingredients - Moroccan Rhassoul Clay, Watermelon Extract, Chamomile Flower Powder, Green Tea Extract, and Banaba Leaf Extract. All of these ingredients are multi-beneficial, and when mixed altogether into a jar, this is the ultimate detox mask.
HOW I USE IT
To use this mask, I'll mix about two teaspoons of the clay powder into a liquid of my choice. The ingredients are more than beneficial enough, and water will work just fine, however, I have been using it with toner water, and serums from my sheet face masks (which is perfect for when I want to use a sheet mask after this mask). When a paste-like consistency is formed, I will then apply a thin layer all over my face, leaving my eyes and lips. Unlike most clay masks, you don't have to wait for it to dry completely, in fact, it is best to remove the mask when it is still tacky, so after ten minutes or so, I'll rinse it off with some lukewarm water. When I first used this mask, I was blown away by the effect it had on my skin. After rinsing it off, my face felt incredibly refreshed and soft and supple. In addition to that, my skin looked so much brighter than before I used the mask which is a testament to how well it cleans out all of the toxins in the skin. This mask is also suppose to help with reducing blemishes, wrinkles and fine lines after time.
What I love most about this mask is that each batch is made in small batches. There are also no preservatives, fragrances or liquids added to each jar, which makes them last longer and keeps the ingredients fresher. You also get free reign over what liquid you want to use to mix into the clay.
I have been getting into natural and sustainable beauty these days, and Canadian-made is a plus, so when I found Antidote Skincare, I was super excited to try out their products! The owner (a previous trained Chef) has used his abilities to combine the right ingredients together so that they compliment each other as the ultimate skin remedy. Each product is a perfect recipe for the skin!
I would definitely give this mask a try, and check out the rest of Antidote Skincare's products while you're at it! You can purchase and view their products on their Etsy store here.
Cheers!
Nancy
