The new Wet n Wild Photo Focus line features their foundation, concealer, and powder for a complete trio of a makeup base. The Photo Focus line was tested under seven different light conditions to deliver flawless camera ready makeup. According to Wet n Wild, the products in the line contain a matte, light diffusing complex that claims to give your skin a #nofilter perfection. The brand also has research to back up these claims, as the different light conditions included clear blue sunlit sky, outdoors PM, indoors PM, electronic flash, fluorescent light, bathroom light, and nightclub light.
Firstly, we have the Photo Focus Foundation. The shade I tried out was 368C Golden Beige (which is a tad bit too dark for my winter skin shade, but would be perfect in the summer). I would say this is a medium to buildable heavy coverage foundation that isn't cakey on the skin. I really enjoyed wearing this foundation and found it to be quite lightweight on the skin even though the coverage was amazing. It glided on my skin so easily, but it's also oil-free which I found to be surprising considering how easily it was to blend out. It lasted on my skin for over ten hours, with minimal creasing, and had a slight, mattifying finish which I found to be lovely.
One thing I'm undecided about is the applicator for this foundation. It's a tiny paddle that doesn't have a concave scoop shape to actually scoop out product, and I feel like at the moment, the only reason why there is always product on it when I pull off the lid is because the bottle is relatively full. I like the idea of the paddle since it's really unique, but I'm not sure if it's entirely hygenic. However, it is also awkward to use the paddle to apply on your face, so I like to apply some foundation on the back of my hand before dotting it evenly on my face and then blending it out with a brush.
The Photo Focus Foundation is available in 20 different shades, so there is something in the mix for everyone. At $7.99 too, it is probably one of the most affordable drugstore foundations on the market.
Next up is the Photo Focus Concealer. This concealer is available six different shades and retails for $3.99. The concealer applies with a doe foot applicator, and has a more concentrated formula than the foundation. I found that I liked to used this concealer under my eyes and to cover some redness around my nose, but similar to the foundation, it lasted a super long time throughout the day, blended easily, and felt great on my skin.
Lastly, the Photo Focus Pressed Powder. Available in eight shades, it retails for $4.99 and claims to set your foundation and concealer with a satin finish and reduce shine throughout the day. I was most looking forward to this powder but I have to say, I was quite disappointed by it. I had heard things about the powder before, and my testing it out only confirmed those other reviews I had read. I found this powder to be very heavy on the skin, and in some ways, it made my face look and feel very cakey once I had set my foundation and concealer. While it was great in adding extra coverage, it just felt uncomfortable to wear. I do want to play around with it more however, because I just don't think it's a good match for this foundation and concealer.
Wet n Wild has definitely stepped up their game. In addition to always having been cruelty-free, they are aiming to be a completely vegan brand as well! You can now find the Photo Focus range at your local Walmart, or on wetnwildbeauty.com.
Have you tried any of these three products out? Let me know what you thought of them down below!

I'm dying to get my hands on that foundation and now thanks to your review, the concealer as well! My local Walmart doesn't carry Wet n Wild though, so I may be waiting a while.
ReplyDeleteAhh that sucks! You can also find them on the Wet n Wild website too, but shipping is kind of insane. I think most Walmarts will be restocking Wet n Wild very soon, and Rexall carries the brand as well!
DeleteThe concealer sounds cool - how is the shade range? I'd be interested in the foundation too, but that paddle dispenser is a big dealbreaker!

6 different shades for the concealer!! The range is pretty good too - there's something for light, medium, and dark skintones. The paddle is definitely an odd feature :P.
DeleteEveryone seems to love the foundation! I'm quite curious too but only have the concealer to try out! I'm sure it is a gorgeous product though!
